About Osteopathy

Osteopaths are manual practitioners - we use our hands to treat, but we also give advice on movement and exercise so you can feel and move better. In Australia, we have completed a minimum of 4.5 years of university training and are registered as primary Allied Health Practitioners with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
What does that mean?
You can come to us directly without a referral from your doctor for help with a range of conditions.
If you have a chronic problem, you may be eligible for a care plan (CDM - chronic disease management), where you may have up to 5 consultations rebated by Medicare
(the rebate in 2021 is $55.10).
Osteopaths use a wide range of techniques suited to the needs of their patient. We treat and support a wide range of conditions.Common conditions seen include:

Neck painHeadachesDisc bulge
Low Back PainShoulder painSciatica
Sports InjuriesElbow painHip pain
TendinopathiesWrist painKnee pain
Muscle strains Ankle pain
Ligament sprains Plantar fasciitis

Appointments:
Initial (1h, $120): full medical history, including assessing your current complaint and treatment or referral if indicated.
(Note: it’s best to wear comfortable, loose clothing on the first appointment so that you are able to move freely during any movement assessments)
Follow up (30min, $80): checking-in after the previous session, progressing with treatment and exercise as neededExtended session (45min, $100): if you haven't had an appointment in a while, had a new injury or require more timeMedicare rebates available for chronic conditions. A Care Plan is needed from your GP for rebates.

About Strength & Conditioning

During a Strength & Conditioning (SnC) session, we will look at your movement patterns (looking at the way you move and any areas you may be restricted in that may lead to a higher risk of injury), find out your goals and create a training program that helps you reach them.SnC is an excellent adjunct to treatments to aid a more solid recovery, where you often won't have to worry as much about re-injuring the area (especially if you got injured due to a poor movement pattern or weakness). If you have any active hobbies or sports you participate in - with SnC you can get more out of them. We also take a look at the demands of your sports to make sure you train the right areas. By creating an appropriate training program, you can perform better, have more fun doing your sport/activity and recover better.SnC is for everyone of every ability, we can work with whatever equipment you have (or even if you don't have any!) to create a program you can succeed with. For more information on SnC or if it is right for you, call 0480 291 760 or contact us at [email protected]

Appointments:
Initial (1h, $120): If you’re new to this clinic, the initial appointment is for you. We will discuss your goals, your current status, assess your movement and create a training program suited to your needs
(Note: it’s best to wear comfortable, loose clothing on the first appointment so that you are able to move freely during any movement assessments)Follow up (30min, $80): If you have been to the clinic before and are looking to check-in or update your training program, this is the appointment for you. We will check-in with your progress with another movement screen and update your training program according to your needs.Telehealth check-in (15min, $20): Just want to check-in with your current exercises to see if you’ve got the technique down - or want to add a few more exercises or progress the ones you have? We can do this one online to save you time

About Telehealth

Telehealth = Virtual appointmentAvailable for both Osteopathy and Strength & Conditioning servicesDuring a Telehealth appointment for Osteopathy, we take a detailed medical history along with asking you about any current pain or injuries.
We will ask you to perform certain movements to help determine the nature of your injury where possible. From there, we can give appropriate advice for you to manage your pain or injury from home and give you specific exercises to help you move and feel better.
During a Telehealth appointment for S&C, we will take a closer look at your movement patterns, along with finding out about the demands of your sport and your goals. We work with you to create a training program for you to reach your goals. If you don't have any weights, bands or other exercise equipment at home, no problem! We will use other household items! Canvas bags are very useful to hold weight. It would also be useful to have a chair nearby as some exercises may need it. Bring what you have and we can work with it !
And wear comfortable clothes to move in !
If you are unsure if Telehealth is appropriate for you, call us on 0480 291 760 and we can talk about your specific situation to determine suitability.

About Me

My name is Ema, I’m an Osteopath and Strength & Conditioning coach. I’m here to help you reach your goals in health, fitness and pain management. I enjoy empowering my clients with tools they can use to improve themselves, get mobile, and not only to rely on manual therapy.I’m also passionate about mountain biking (and well, all mountain sports, to be honest - especially skiing and boarding) - and have had my fair share of injuries from it - which is what led me to Osteo in the first place. The many hours of rehab is what led me to get further qualified in Strength & Conditioning, so I can integrate treatment with an appropriate movement program for my clients. I know what it’s like to be told to give up riding after an injury when I’ve gone to get treatment - so I want to do what I can for other riders to help them get back on the bike if they can.Other than dealing with my own injuries, I have a background as a level 2 Sports Trainer in soccer and football injuries, additional training in Dry Needling, cupping, kinesiology taping (RockTape), Functional Movement Screen (FMS level 1). My first degree was in Behavioural Neuroscience (Pharmacology), so I’m keen to figure out how things work and what we can do to change them.Dr Ema Stancic
BSc(Osteo), MHSc(Osteo),
BBNSc(Hons), S&C level 1 coach
